Reaper Mini-Monster Pack
« on: October 17, 2011, 01:08:24 PM »
Reaper has previewed a new pack of Mini-Monsters. Check this link for the pic:

I have posted a a question on their boards as to their scale--I am hoping they're 15mm, but we shall see.

They look awesome!

They are pretty cool Beasties. As far as size goes, check the little arrows on the far right; they're 25mm/1" apart for reference. In 15mm scale I would say they'd be fairly substantial monsters.

CORRECTION: Froggy has the right info on the arrows; disregard my drivel.

Glad to see something different than those horrid Mouslings being turned out.  >:(
ESPECIALLY glad that it's monsters!
The little aboleth is great, and the beholder-kin is sweet too!

The triangles ("Bryangles" - Bryan at Reaper instituted them) are 1/2" and 1" off the ground, respectively.  It looks like the Beholderling is about normal human height or a little short for Reaper scale, meaning probably human height for most others.

Yes, me too. I know a lot of people find the Mouselings to be cute and cool, but I consider them a colossal waste of Reaper's resources, second only to the wretched line of Zodiac minis they put out the last couple years.

If the dive into 15mm fantasy, especially focusing on monsters, it will be awesome.  Even if they just stick their toe in and do 5 - 10 packs, it would be great.

Ad "one of those people" I am assembling an army of mouslings (Reaper and other 25/15 mm figures) and eagerly await some SF mouslings to go with my fantasy aries of mice.  Haven't found a historical use but till looking...

That aside, Reaper stuff looks good or better as usual.  Now if he Zodiac line had male and female figures for each month I actually could find use for those in RPG lite games.

Reaper is a wonderful diverse collection of figures so I am glad hey are expanding some more into monsters.  They are NOT a source I go to for rank and file mass armies but they provide excellent character, sidekick, and monster singletons for gaming.

An nice affordable aboleth in 15mm scale will be nice.  I keep looking at the two 28mm versions, but even the "small" one is more than I can justify, and the big boy is a backbreaker.

I should really sculpt a few 28mm aboleths myself and do them in mixed resin and metal.  Much cheaper that way, and I've always wanted a mini of the more sluglike versions from the old 2nd edition Night Below campaign box.
