Reaper plastic mini bending and painting
« on: 11 March 2014, 07:15:57 AM »
Hello everyone,

I've been searching but didn't find an answer so far to my issue:

I purchased a couple of reaper minis to reinforce a vampires company for IHMN, the seller packed those minis for the shipment and I got a Judas Bloodspire and an undertaker of the same serie.

Receiving the package the mini of judas was stuffed so tight that now he looks like bowing, curved facing the ground, and of course I would like a "gentleman" like him to stand straight!!

Is there any technique you would suggest to straighten him, I was thinking about heating...but I'm afraid I'll end cooking him if I don't know what I'm doing.
Also: once got him back standing is there any recommended painting procedure since it's plastic (and I never painted a plastic mini so far)

Hope someone solved this in his carrier! Thanks

You can use boiling water to re-shape them.  I would suggest using Krylon "Fusion" paint to prime them.  Testor's Ultra Flat to varnish.  Be really careful what you use to prime and varnish them with.  Some paints cause off gassing.  Check Reapers forums for a lot more on the subject.  I've painted a fair number of them.
