It's super! Really loved it. 9/10 on the Cthulhu-scale. Had a blast watching it. We watched it before a RPG session of CoC, so we got real motivated.

Other movies:

*The Nameless. It's not very good, but a lot of fun nonetheless. Has some nice moments.
*The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu. Watched this last Saturday and thought it was fantastic. Lots of humour, nice story, good effects and nice characters. Recommendation.
*Dagon. Many people likt it, I didn't. Too silly, too rubbery, the story doesn't make sense and it was just a bit too 'meh'. It had some nice moments though.
*Necronomicon. Just downloaded this one. Haven't watched it yet, but what I saw looked like fun!
*In Search of Lovecraft. Ouch...this one's bad. Sure, it's cheap, but the story and acting are terrible.
*Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown. A documentary. Just downloaded it, but haven't watched it yet. Looks fun, with interviews with people lik Del Toro.
*The Dunwich Horror. Same...downloaded, haven't watched yet. Gets a bad rating on IMDB, but from what I read it sounds true to the book. So can't wait!

And new from HPLS: Whisperer in Darkness. Pre-ordered it and can't wait!!!

I too very much enjoyed the Call of Cthulhu film.

The behind the scenes stuff was immensely interesting as well.

I loved that movie.
I'm one of the people that loved Dagon, the atmosphere in that movie is pretty creepy, but yes it has lousy acting.
Necronomicon is a nice movie, but from what I can remember (I saw this movie a really long time ago) is that it's not really Lovecraft's stories. It's about Jeffrey Combs (who plays H.P. Lovecraft) who steals the book and reads some stories from it.
Also some Lovecraft movies that I like, but which are just loosly based upon his stories, are: the Re-Animator Trilogy and From Beyond.

I'll echo whats already said, love the movie. It really captures the feel of HPL. I'm a big fan of their CDs as well and their prop materials.

I was really impressed by it- the best 'official' Cthulhu film in my opinion.

I also like In the the Mouth of Madness and Event Horizon which I feel are Lovecraftian in feel if not in name.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

I felt Event Horizon was more Warhammer 40k? ... but very scary all the same.

The Call Of Cthulhu is the high water mark for all eldritch films and especially great as an almost perfect telling of the story...unlike the latest HPLS effort which was bloody awful!
