Call of Cthulhu - The movie

Recently saw this one, and actually liked it very much.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478988/

Filmed in silent movie style, so black-and-white, lots of overacting, and a cool 'crappy' 20's-King-Kong animated Cthulhu.

Fun!

Going a bit off topic for this forum, but just had to post it.
Check out this box of hand-outs from the movie.

Just watched it. They did a really good job, I must say. There were some changes and omissions of details in the story (largely, I feel, not to break budget) but the film did still convey the horror of it very well. It was also lovely in it's aspect of a "faux silent film".

I really, really wish there was a whole series of movies just like this, re-telling all the great Lovecraft stories.
"When to keep awake against the camel's swaying or the junk's rocking, you start summoning up your memories one by one, your wolf will have become another wolf, your sister a different sister, your battle other battles, on your return from Euphemia, the city where memory is traded." - Italo Calvino

I have the movie as well.  Really cool.  Plus I love their props cd, which I bought as well.  :)

i too loved it - very well adapted!

i might also suggest The Resurrected with Christopher Sarandon.  it's The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, deftly adapted into a modern (though "pre-internet" setting)

What a fun film, looks like they had a great old time making it too.

After we watched it, we had to call the neighbours around so they could see it too.  :)
