Great AC.  You've been very indulgent of us, but I wonder if you'd be willing to take a shot with the turret and wheels on?

Sure... note the open turret, I'm just building the hatch. The gunhole covers can be split in half to make an open version.

Hi Tobi,

Wonderful of you to placate us all and the end results I'm sure will speak volumes in the wailing of cries reverberating from around the world about this model.

Best wishes,

You guys are all too kind. I promise to have Tobi's model in production as soon as possible - just a matter of getting it here and getting it molded. All of the credit for this should go to Tobi - he's a hell of a talented artist, and a great friend, to boot. Do him a favor and check out his webstore - he's got some amazing stuff there, too.

Just a brief update for those following.

I received the Ehrhardt this past week from Tobi. It is quite a masterpiece. Includes hatches, both opened and closed, to cover all of the various gunnery positions and relevant vision ports. There are also a full seven machine guns, so that you can arm the beast as you see fit, plus two different wheel options. (Tobi and I have seen multiple versions of both, he suggested doing both types, and I think it was a good idea. Lots of flexibility that way... keep in mind most of these were hand built!)

The piece is quite excellent, and is the same high quality we've come to expect from Herr Asche. I think it ranks up there with the Euzkadi (and those who have seen that one know what a beautiful piece it is.)

I expect to send the armored car off soon - just waiting on a paycheck from my Hungarian book (which has finally been published.) When that is done, I can get the thing off to the caster and get her cast pretty quickly. This is a multi-piece kit, and it's somewhat larger than the Euzkadi (Not massively so, but many more options and many more parts). I don't have a price yet, but I'm -guessing- it'll be in the thirty to forty dollar range; I'll try to keep it as low as I can, but that all depends upon the final cost of molding/casting.

And again, just to confirm this for you, it's  28mm piece, roughly 1/56.

Helen -

I like that;) It's much easier than trying to write "Ehrhardt" fifteen times a day for some reason. Anyway, will try to have it up and running asap.

Traveller -

I'll get it into your mits as soon as I can.

You'll also both be happy to know that, as promised, the turret has a commander's hatch which may be modeled open or closed. Well, a pair of hatches, actually. But anyway, saves me having to take that extra step when I paint one up for myself.
