I picked up a 1933 Atlas for a prop. It is nice to let the players leaf through, and to copy period maps from for gaming.

What props do you guys have laying about?

I have a 1920's encyclopedia set, some period records and a Victrola, a few appropriate model cars for examples, some hats, a few 1920's and 1930's magazines, some reproduction period newspapers, reproduction tickets for trains and passenger ships and a trunk to keep it all in.

Most of it is stuff that simply came with my house.

A few hats (Pickelhaube, Kepi, Wolseley Sun Helmet, several Tommy tin hats, Adrian Helmet, Italian Helmet, Islamic skull cap, some kind of aircrew hat of unknown provenance, loads of forage caps, berets and that kind of thing). I like silly hats, and inflict them on my players from time to time.

Other than that not much. A nice Zulu/Ngoni style shield complete with spear and knobkerrie.

I rather enjoy waving my knobkerrie about and using it as a pointer!  :)

I have very nice 1942 dated official UK Government Atlas.  It details the world pre-Austrian Anschluss and as at its date of publication.  It includes shipping routes too.
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Oh, the other thing I have that I like to use is a 1938 globe. It's great to set it in the middle of the table and trace the players' air flights ala the Indiana Jones movies.
