Help glueing resin and help with slotta bases

Hello all.

2 questions please.

What is the best glue i can use to resin models?

Where can i find slotta bases (GW round types) but smaller than the GW say 15mm round more or less?

I always use the odourless Uhu type. It takes a little longer to cure, but holds perfectly.

I have never come across round slotta bases as small as you need, but Heresy Miniatures sells 20mm rounds, if that helps.

GW used to do slotta multi bases that had small circular bases that popped into a rectangular frame from underneath.  From memory the circles are about 15mm.  How many do you need?  I have a few in the attic

Svenn, about the bases they are to be used on the new Westphalia halflings.
I dont know if 15mm round bases are too small or not. Maybe the 20mm ones from Heresy are better.
Is it possible for you to take a Picture close to a GW 28mm miniature please?
That would give me a idea of the size and if Works i´ll be needing some 30 or more.
And if you find a few more goblins just pm me.

Here's a WK halfling on one.  I have found more than 30 if you need them . The slot is 15mm wide. The moulding for the centre slot is a teeny weeny bit deeper than the outer lip so you may want to sand them so the outer edge touches ground but they do stand flat as is.




I have some goblin war machine crew types on evilbay at present, I can pull the auctions if you want them.

Depends on your priorities. Superglue (CA glue) is the easiest to use, and thus the most popular. It's not the most durable though. Most notably, CA has great tensile strength, but terrible sheer strength, and is susceptible to thermal expansion/contraction stresses.

If max durability is your priority, then 2-part epoxy is what you want. I'm durability nut, so I mostly use JB weld for small stuff, and 5-minute epoxy for large stuff (mating surfaces of 1cm² or greater). With larger parts pinning is extraneous if you're using epoxy (and I say that as a durability nut).

Pulp Alley Figures by Andrew Rae come with 18mm slottas as one option. Not sure if that'll do, but maybe ask Andrew where he gets them if the other ideas don't pan out?

I've found some 15mm plastic bases, these are not slotted though.

Indeed i thought using a 2 parts epoxy for metal but so far i havent tried.

Matthew, good tip. I may opt for Svenn´s bases but those as well as the link from Gnomehome are usefull info.
If not for me others will use it.
