Cytherean Swamp Flats
« on: 08 March 2012, 06:54:37 PM »

Made from textured plastic, with flocking, skeletons, and monsters glued in. Underwater objects have their shadows painted on the underside, and the whole thing used up most of my brown ink.

Figures shown for scale are mounted on US pennies.

What I hadn't said yet was that these have been sitting made and unpainted in my office for about a year.  I finished these because I wanted to create today but didn't want to paint my WIP Cytherean cavalry.

The drop ceiling stuff is probably easier to cut and harder to control, but it would work just as well.

Sweet stuff. Very inspirational.  :-* Cytherean Swamp lands are the next place for me to visit when I have finished making my version of Mars.

The 'acrylic' stuff is REALLY brittle, and cracks spread like a devil. I think I saw there's some 'poly' stuff now on the market, but if it's any thing like polycarb, which I think it is, strong and stable as heck, but right mess to cut.

Course, I've five thumbs on each hand, so YMMV may be assumed. Too bad, as it would have made a great looking sea surface overhead for my never-realized Captain Nemo meets the Deep Ones game.
