Basing ... and scaling

Unfortunatley we in Germany are forbidden to destroy money (and I'm pretty sure using them as base counts as such), so being an upstanding citizen, I stay with the washers.

Not sure how we stand on this in the UK. It used be illegal to deface the monarchs image on a coin but I believe that this was took off the statute books some time ago.

However I do ensure that I do not glue the figure to the Queens head side

It's still treason to deface the Queen's image.  But as of 2000 it no longer carries the death penalty.

The post office have been doing it with postmarks for years, so I guess they in line before us.
