First BoB Figures

Found these chaps in the bottom of my war chest (quite literally, my storage space is a WW2-era travelling trunk which belonged to an officer of the RA - still has the destination address painted onto the side). I had been planning to sell them once painted up, but I have to say I rather like them...

It wasn't intentional, but the chap in front looks rather like my old archaeology professor (well, what he might look like if pith helmets and pistols were the thing in lectures   )

Basing could use a bit of work, and maybe they need a spot of touching up here and there, but still, shall leave it to anyone who wants to comment on whether they're worthy of being displayed on here!

Anyway, in the interests of showing off some painting,

I'm a fan of non-bright miniatures (unless it's old Citadel-stuff, than it's the other way around), so I find these very pleasing to the eye
I like the basing as well, subtle and effective if you ask me. If you want some variation in the shade, you might want to drybrush the grass slightly with a bone colour. That usually does the work well enough.
