Mantic Enforcers - quick pix with comparision shot
« on: October 14, 2012, 10:13:19 PM »
Someone asked about Mantic Enforcers. Hope this helps.

l-r: LAM, Mantic, DG, CB Infinity.

Paint WIPs.

Made with the increasingly common plastic/resin material, they're decent, multi-part, powered-armor human troops. Depending on your paint scheme, the generic menace lets you field them either as Stalwart Terran Defenders or Oppressive Corporate Minions. They are slightly larger than stock 28mm figs, similar to the old StarShip Troopers PI plastics, IIRC.

While not as pose-able as you think they would be, there’s still a good dynamic and variety, and the restic? plesin? holds all that combat armor detail nicely. They lack vehicles and crew-served support weapons, it will give you an excuse to stalk the internet for suitable substitutes.  ;)

They look pretty nice! And as you said, they're generic enough that they could fill a lot of roles depending on the paint job.  Thanks for sharing!

Cool! I think it may have been me that was asking actually!  lol

Any chance you could do a comparison with a more upright Infinity model please?

I'll try. Don't have that many Infinity figs tho, and none are really "upright."

The Enforcers are decidedly taller than most of my other figs.

And for the rule-lovers here, a pic of one next to a ruler would be useful, too.

My guess is that they are 35mm tall (which would be perfect for a little project of mine, confronting them to the pretty big horrorclix aliens).

EDIT: And don't forget to paste these pics in the Scale-o-matic thread:

That thread must be fed for the scale-obbssesed like me. ;D

Yes, the Enforcers do seem nice enough as per everything else except the size which looks to be a bit above Infinity. Then again, since it doesn't seem to be too much more than Inf, they prolly are rather well compatible with Sedition Wars stuff and shouldn't look out of place with MERCS either. The former is of some interest as I'm going to (hopefully) soon have many more of those in my collection :)

Is there a reason they're so damned expensive?  I saw the price and assumed they'd be metals of some sort.  I guess prices are going up everywhere...

Hmm. I can accept people don't want to pay "above Defiance Games" prices for placcys, but all the same a ten-fig Strike Section is £14.99 at Mantic's own store, so I would not say that's expensive -- it's just not a super bargain (tho the bigger bundles go for less per figure of course). The specialist teams are double that per fig tho but that should include extra metal bits for their equipment.
