Hello
« on: 06 December 2012, 10:41:51 PM »
Hi guys,
Thought i would enter into the standard meet and greet..

Theres a real lack of gaming to be done that is non warhammer in my area as much as i would have like to get into FOW or sotr or some other systems..
unfortunately the only none warhammer 40k thing i can get to try is fantasy and i have been ouncing around trying to get a feel of what army i want.

I do have a love for japanese culture and history so a samurai inspired army seemed the way forward. Which i hope can be played in ancient battles or the like if i find a group to play with around my own area. A friend mentioned this website to me as the samurai are not an official warhammer race and maybe i could bump into people to help me along the way and assist in building an army for use in WAB as well.

look forward to getting to know you and be apart of the forum :)

Welcome to LAF.

May you have a long and merry stay with us.

I quitted playing WTF-FB several editions ago, but as google is your friend, you may want to check this link for the unofficial "nippon Army Book":

http://es.scribd.com/doc/33025584/Warhammer-Armies-Nippon

Must say I haven't read it, but a quick flip shows great drawings and the gamers who posted it have made a lot of other unofficial armies that has been very well received by the WTF-FB comunitty.

And we want to see pics of your miniatures once the project is ongoing  ;)

Hope that helps.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Thankyou for the welcome.

Those rules do seem fair, not too sure where they stand in accordance to the latest edition yet as i am just getting into the hobby.
Miniatures have just been oredered and are on the way ;)
Just need to set about the task of the fine line between fantasy and WAB in terms of models and colour schemes

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

This is a great place to be for inspiration, and if you want to go Japan this is the man to have a look at!

With WHFB you could always proxy the samurai into an Empire army or similar, I have done that with a fantasy English Civil War Empire army. Makes for a fun project and means if you want to you you can enter competitions etc. Also means I can have King Charles on a Pegasus!

Enjoy the forum, it really is the best on the whole internet!
Saving the last bullet... just in case.

See my wonderful BLOG of stuff!
