Coming soon from Westphalia Miniatures are these very tasty 1813 Saxons by Paul Hicks :

And yes, they're bloody good.
And yes, temptation will beckon.

I like the ratio of line troops to leaders/flag bearers/musicians.  More line troopers would be even better of course.

And of course I won't buy them (wrong size/scale) but that doesn't change my positive response to these.

Gracias,

Glenn

Are they compatible with Perry?

If they are the same size as their Hanoverian jaeger they are compatible with Perry's ( cos I have some of them).

Paul Hicks sculpts are generally very compatible with Perry in both size and general proportions, especially his Napoleonics.

All the more so as in most cases, you won't even have to mix Perry and Paul's sculpts in the same unit : his Murawski Poles and various Westphalia Germans will by necessity be separate units.

Bonsoir Mes Amis,

Greetings from the centre of France.

These are fabulous.

The thing is that Calpe also do Saxons in 28mm see...

http://www.calpeminiatures.co.uk/saxon_line_musketeers.html

and as  I am a Calpe fan and greedy for variety in my battalions I wonder if Paul Hick's Saxons would go with the Calpe ones?

Cheers,

Paul

Hi there,

I was made aware of this thread and I would like to offer more information on
this range.

We decided to do Saxons because it's 2013 and there's no complete range
except the stalwart Connoisseurs which are nice but have very limited poses.
Eureka never made it past some heavy Cavalry and Calpe (sadly) never past
their Musketiere.

Our aim is to get all arms together before providing more variety (mantel-rolls,
extra-cantines, fatigue-caps and even the fancy calf-skin covers are on the list).
Next releases will be Grenadiers, Light infantry and artillery in this order.
Then we plough on with cavalry and Train.

We're too planning to offer Division-, Regiment- and Battalion deals with cuts
of up to 30% to keep our miniatures affordable if one of the gents decides to
buy them 'en gros'

We might also build more different command-sets since our first releases with
covered Shakos work well for some of the Micro-CdR-States as well as
Westphalians.

Kind regards,

Kawe Weissi-Zadeh

Hi Kawe,

Thanks for the additional information.

I will certainly have to buy enough for at least a Brigade.

Difficult for you to be exact I know but do you have a production plan stating roughly what will be done when so I can start saving up!?

Merci,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm glad to hear that they are after your taste.
We have a release-schedule that will cover von Sahr's Division http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P4ZaoaUu44Q/T6T4uY8JlHI/AAAAAAAAAuc/BXr2jCVYpiM/s1600/divisionVonSaher.jpg until the beginning of the summer.
I fear that there's no way around of either placing a pre-order to receive bit by bit what becomes
available, or waiting with the purchase until everything is in stock.

I'll prepare a Newsletter soon-ish that should answer all these questions en detail.
Said News-letter can be request at sales@westfaliaminiatures.com, but I'll also try and host it to
the web-page.

Best,

Kawe
