RT-ish Alpha Legion Lord
« on: 26 April 2013, 10:20:26 AM »
One of my many 40K extravaganzas was this: An Alpha Legion Lord on palanquin.
I had this old Lord Macragge vignette which I wasn't using. I had quite a gamer mentality then (though I'm more a collector now), I used everything for gaming purposes (despite its usefulness -I used things just for being cool to my young eyes...).

The carriers are old Space Marine Scouts, used as cultists. When I did this, the fluff about this Legion just said that there were a few Marines and hordes of cultists.

That was before GW changed it. Right, current fluff is also great, a vicious Hydra of multiple heads, with no recognizable leaders (at least for the enemy). That made this palanquin totally obsolete. This is the exaltation of the leader! Well, I can still find plausible explanations. Maybe this is what the enemy expects to find, a big leader which in fact is John Doe. Maybe the real leader is the bodyguard. Or any of the carriers. Or maybe this is what they want you to think... lol
Well, you can find a couple of pics more here:

Hope you enjoy my crazy ideas :).

GW has a habit of changing the fluff - but the great thing about the setting is that it allows for anything to happen at any point in time (this is also possible for Warhammer).

Very nice use of gold in the piece - keep up the good work.
