Well, here is my first attempt at a Pulp Post WWI tri-plane:

And a different angle:

:o She is a crisp looking beauty. Very nice.

Is there much weathering on her? I'd imagine all sorts of scars and stains having survived WwI and still in the same paint scheme.

That is such a good question and one I have been agonizing over.  On one hand, I wanted to give her some age and weathering for my upcoming pulp games.  On the other hand, since it is a pulp game, I wanted to try to touch that "glitzy" side of things.  I think I'll play it that the owner of said plane was a WWI vet and he's restoring her to her magical charm while living in Egypt.  His other plane crashed due to mechanical failure (no self respecting pilot would admit to being shot down by an inferior muggle)  ;)  But I may certainly change my mind on weathering her.

Well the wartime dri's were horribly weathered with streaks and smears clearly visible in period pics.

But as this is for presumably post war pulp, I would let the finish indicate something about the pilots personality.

Is he a bad guy on the run, weather it heavily.
Is he a POSH type doing good for God and kingdom, then it'll be maintained in spiffy like new condition.

Either way it looks great.

Thanks for your support Amalric and Constable Bertrand!  I'll throw some other planes together and try weathering them.  Truth be told, I'm a little gunshy b/c I'm overwhelmed by all the talent on the LAF.

As long as there is background fluff you can do what you want ;) She looks very fancy!  :-*

I just thought she needed weathering after surviving a war and still being painted in her wartime scheme. But if the lovely German ace is maintaining her out of his excess, then why not :)

You could try heavy weathered wwI PJ's, new post war Colours, and unholy combinations of both as the wretched bird as assembled of various cheap parts.

Cheers

Funny you should say that b/c I plan on doing that very same thing in the future.   :)  Here is another bird I did from a poorly molded model.  In my pulp game, Egypt and India are the new emerging super powers as Europe, the USA and the CSA are shattered.  Egypt is now headed by the God-Pharaoh (a very mysterious figure).  Egypt is experiencing a strange new technological renaissance far ahead of shattered Europe.  When India threatened Egypt over Madagascar in 1923, Egypt annihilated India's biplane armada with the Pharaoh's P-1 "Prowler's."  I tried to give it a glitzy-Egyptian feel with the blue and gold.  Strategically wise color scheme?  no.  Fun to paint?  Darn tootin!   lol

And another angle (don't look too closely, this is a throw away model)
