Pike & Shotte & Zombies Combat
« on: 08 October 2013, 09:41:16 PM »
Does anyone know if there are Close Combat Modifiers for this set of rules?

I started out trying to find rules regarding charging as several weapons have the ability to alter the outcome of a charge. But no where can I find rules for a charge. It almost seems like there is a Combat Modifiers Table that has gone missing.

Thanks,

Mike

If you mean 'receive a charge' with a pike or spear (pp 36 and 38), it gives your model the ability to get a bonus when an enemy is moving into combat range.

I don't think there's a 'charge action' as such, combat just occurs whenever opposing models get within ½" of each other.

If you mean something else, please give an example.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Thanks Argonor. That is the main example and I found a few of the things I was looking for under Horses in Combat, which gives a mounted fighter some distinct advantages when moving into combat.

I think that, with all the references to charges, I was expecting to find a more specific definition.

Yea.  I'm with Skrappy.
I thought that charging was an action and you would get bonuses (like almost every other game...).
I guess not.

Well, the movement rules makes it a bit random whether your are able to move into combat or not, and if you would have to 'declare a charge' - like in many systems, you'd often end up short of the target.

I think the survivors have plenty of edge, especially as the Zeds move in a somewhat random manner (I'm going to use some kind of direction template instead of moving in the direction of the die, though, probably using a second die determining that).
