15mm "Modern" miniatures?
« on: 05 October 2013, 10:29:35 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have been falling more and more in love with smaller scales, and was leaning towards doing some modern stuff in 20mm due to the plethora of options. That said, as I have learned, the battlefields get bigger and ranges more realistic the smaller the figures are, so I was wondering if anyone can recommend any particularly nice 15mm Modern figures. More interested in ultra-modern, today's tech sort of thing. Anything from 2000+ will do I guess!

gibby, look into khurasan miniatures ultra modern US most current out there and they are beauts...also has modern north koreans and a new line of mid east wars figures coming out..syrians etc etc.also has a limited AFV range that is expanding. Now having said that...there is also
Eureka ( russians / chechans)

Peter pig Ak-47 range (lots to choose from)

Old glory

Fly trap factory ( USMC/arabs/afghans)

flashpoint miniatures

QRF (lots to choose from)

Rebel miniatures

GZG (sci fi but the tommorows war lines tech will be online soon so could be used for super ultra modern)
there is more out there I am sure just cant think of em at the moment...I use all these lines interchangeably within the same unit so size is not a real factor ...hope this helps

For 15mm keep an eye on Khurasan especially over the coming months, all the above ranges are indeed very good (QRF does have a lot to choose from) but often a lot of the Ultra modern kit is missing, most stuff being veered towards cold war/1990s. Khurasan seemingly will be making more of the up to date kit, with his historical lines like Yom-Kippur being excellent stand ins for 3rd world states.

For fairly cheap 1/100 vehicles, if you come across Zvezdas 'Hot War' kit, they may be worth an investment, T-72s with added armour and BTRs, as well as Abrams and Bradleys.

Fantastic! Cheers, Agis. Pics are very helpful - I am amazed by how many websites have shite pictures of their figures. Excellent painting as always :)
