Upcoming Perry AWI cavalry
« on: November 25, 2013, 10:09:50 PM »
Just uploaded on the Perry website's workbench section. In the latest Perry Mins newsletter, Alan Perry states that he also intends to do dismounted contingents for each continental cavalry regiment :

Fantastic news! I'd love to use some cavalry in M&T, so it's a must have!

I wonder if that is the rider is a one piece or if the rider and horse? would make sense if it reduces the cost fo moulding being a one pice....interesting why though

I believe it announces the fact that they are 1-piecers on the site. The rider and horse are 1-piece and the rider has a choice of separate right arms.

Some of the 1-piecers are very nice. I have the Austrian and Russian Napo colonels sets. They are both sets of 1-piecers and are lovely. I have heard some complaints from other gamers that some of the other 1-piece sets have a skinny, scrunched look to them. The specific allegation was leveled at the Chasseurs-a-Cheval de la Garde.

It depends. Alan's been doing an increasing number of one-piece cavalry figures for his various Napoleonic ranges lately but the majority of Perry riders tend to be cast separately from their horses. I have some of the one-piece cavalry sets such as Ney and his staff officers and I haven't noticed any significant flatness in the figures, though some poses obviously have to allow for the limitations of the casting process and are therefore a little less 'three-dimensional' than two piece castings.

Thanks chaps  :)

The only cavalry I've got from them is samurai, Normans, camalry and Sikhs and they are all two part.

Not that I'm that bother as I alway paint when the rider has been stuck on anyway  lol

cheers

James
