Ozymandias (Ramasses II) and Moai (Easther Island head)
« on: 08 November 2013, 09:52:04 PM »

These are my latest made models of an Easter Island Head and the Ramesses II statue (Called The Younger Memnon in the British Museum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Younger_Memnon) which inspired the poem Ozymandias half buried in the sand. Both at 28mm scale.

Took me ages to make that Ozymandias statue. I'm rather happy with the Hieroglyphics on the back though.  :)

The real Younger Memnon has a hole in his right shoulder, but it's suspected this was made to help try and get the statue back to Europe, so I decided to make it as if it hasn't suffered that damage yet... and if you want to, you can add a hole yourself!  ;)

We haven't had a chance to make any more yet but we will and then chuck some up on eBay in a week or two. I also want to paint the Ozymandias head but that wont be 'till next week either.

The Moai (or Easter Island Head) stands just over 8cm tall. It's a big ol' lump of resin. Will try and make a hollow core to it in the next casts to keep the weight down a bit for shipping!

I thought you were over that phase  ;)

Nono. You can't have too many sailors. Or that's what she said.

I'm hoping both heads will be on ebay sometime in the next ten days.

The Sailor I bought a few years ago. I think it was from Black Cat Bases.

I'm painting the Ozymandias head now. I'll put up some photos in a few days.

Just so you all know, both the Ozymandias and Easter Island are now on eBay... links below. Unfortunately I'm not selling sailors although they seam to be popular on this forum!
