Crooked Dice Constables suitable for interwar use?
« on: 18 January 2014, 12:27:02 AM »
Crooked Dice is having a January sale and I've been thinking of getting a couple Bobbies for games set in Britain.

They look close enough, but I'm no expert in British police uniforms. Would the Crooked Dice 50's/60's-era coppers be okay for interwar gaming?

Thanks!

In a word, no!

Police officers in the earlier period had closed and stand collars, not the lapels and shirt/tie of the 1960s......

Drats!

Back to my original plan of using the Artizan fellows... thought I could save a few coppers (get it?  ;D ).

Reiver Castings do some specifically for VBCW. I got some and they're OK. They are quite small but I'm not too concerned with that (some people are). Pretty cheap as well....!

They also do them in flat caps and steel helmets - I got some of each. The same basic figures with different heads.
