Very nice model and very suitable with Copplestone figures. I'm waiting for the Company B to release their Austin and in particular their Model T Ford. As you know the latter was also in Russia and will look just as good with Brigade Game figures IMHO.

Okay I'm plugging BG Figures  8)

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

Hi,

I keep looking at that sloppy jalopy armoured car - I don't know how many times I've been back to the site to have just one more look.......guess next time I visit I'll have to get my credit card out and make that decision.

But then again........I'd rather find a REALLY nice model of an FT17 instead.

Love FT17's......there's just something totally cool about really, really bad tanks.

The Model T Ford was to be released in Feburary as this was indicated by Lon to me in an e-mail. The Austin is still in progress along with other interesting vehicles and Armoured trains. Lets hope the Model T Ford is not to far away  :)

The Brigade Games FT 17 is a cute tank (I've three of them). What I didn't like to see was when they change it to all metal. I just have a thing about all metal vehicles. However, Force of Arms have produce a number of FT 17s with variants in resin.

Also for the desert in North Africa etc with be the release of the Italian A/C (Lancia) by Force of Arms.

I'll be aiming at one FT 17, one Whippet and one composite MKV for the whites and Reds respectively with a mix of Armoured Cars and a train to go.

I've just painted up a FT-17 and the command turret FT-17 for Brigade's site.  I also like the original resin casting of the FT (I worked on parts of it, so I'm biased...)  I'm going to talk to Brigade about putting out an alternate version of the FT in resin with metal tracks and turret again.  Who knows, maybe we'll make that a Company B exclusive...

I recieved the Model T metals two weeks ago, and am eagerly awaiting the casts  of the resins this week.  That model has had quite a trip and has been in progress for two years!  This is the second set of masters (some salvaged from the first set..after the first set met an unfortunate end in the molding process...)  We had a small release of model T's previously..but they were all resin..and pretty fragile.  The new metal pieces give them a ittle more heft and stability.

The Austin is about 70% complete.  All it needs is it's rivets really.  But I've been distracted by the Armored train at the moment.  I received the metal masters for the wheels and train suspension last week...  so I've been busy building the the armored engine and first flat car.  Quite a project..I want to have the master done by May.

And for those who can't wait...here's the master of the Model T armored pickup!

Figure is one we comissioned from Eureka for the Russian Tanchanka.  We're in the procress of getting some resculpted to use a set of maxim MG's in the back.  The truck will be out alone though sometime in April.

All this mastering of course means my BoB armies are still unpainted....and will remain so for a long time :-(  maybe I'll have to have all tank battles...

Thankyou for letting the forum know of whats happening with the AFVs and vehicle/train range from Company B.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with the Model T Ford.

Just on a side note I do like the way BAM have produce the two piece resin cast ( GAZ, 250 etc)- separate wheels on chassis on base and body that just fits on top. No fuss and with a few metal bits like the windscreen, back seats etc. For wargaming this is ideal, but I do understand this is not everyones cup of tea or coffee  :|

Added side note was Mike Broadbent  showing me the M18 Hellcat that he is working on at the moment. We had an enjoyable over the top game the other day. Mike did very well with the French attacking the Germans defending the trench.

Thanks again for your posting on news from Company B.

Why do you say it was bad ?? They built about 4000-4500 during the war, including 1000 in the US, and were planning to make 12.000 before the end of 1919 !! It was cheap, adapted to mass production. After the war it was exported on every continent, and almost any country with a tank force had some FT17.

It was revolutionary and its design is still used nowadays (weapons on a revolving turret, engine in the back, driver in the front).

The Saint-Chamond was bad, and I love it for that

Any tank that is only just bullet proof, can be over=taken by a man on a bicycle and has rivets is, by definition, a bad tank no matter how many of them were made. Just becuase you make a lot of them doesn't make them good.

But....a tank with rivets is a proper tank!

Cast or welded hulls, armour greater than 20mm thick, Christie-based suspension, rubber road wheels, Anti-tank guns in proper mountings, radios, fuel tanks, engines greater than 45 hp are all new fangled ideas that simply won't catch on.

Thanks Helen,

Yes, mike was bragging about that.  You saw our Hellcat!  No fair!  I have not even seen Mikes metals yet :-(

I have several test casts of the beastie here with no tracks... and they have panthers to try and hunt!

Hi Brent, no fair! Mike was bragging - he is a very quiet chap  8) I even offered Mike some FT 17s for supporting his attack

I hope in time you can look at the family of British Armoured cars, support and tenders too especially the ones used in Russia before and during the RCW period.

A German Armoured Car they used both in Palestine and Eastern Front would be lovely too.

Take care and we look forward to your releases in time.

Helen
