Surely no set of rules should be taken as the absolute gospel whatever the period. Bolt Action does seem like a flawed work anyway, there is a big hooha and whoopty do about their latest model set, the Pegasus Bridge thingy, and the rules do not permit troops to fire across the bridge, because the actual model is too long for the rifle ranges given in the rule set. Doh. Something wrong there. I would argue that CoC has far more historical flavour, if that is your thing, and more flexibility to them than most WWII sets about at the moment.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

Fingers crossed that happens, rather than the equally likely "stuff it, let's go back to card games", which I saw from most of the Flames players at my FLGS.
