3d Modelling
« on: 01 May 2014, 03:18:16 PM »
I realised that for building masters my technique isn't really solid enough, I might be a gifted amateur but I'm not a professional by a long chalk. I calculated how long it might take me to get up to speed and sussed it would be the other side of the crematorium. So I decided to have a bash at 3D modelling having done some in the 90s, the great part being is it's more about patience while the machine takes care of the technique.

Here's my first model, a 3-ish cm wide sci-fi crate, it's alright...

Here's my second, an airlock door similar to the one I made a while back, but with more detail and a nicer finish.

That's really good.

Something I notice when building a vignette a while back was there is a distinct lack of ammo boxes, crates and the like for 28mm models. I ended up building a Vickers ammo box from scratch, which was a 7/10 effort at best. No-one seemed to do the airborne ammo trolley either (with or without lid), which seemed like a crying shame.
