17thc Manchurian/Korean archery
« on: May 16, 2014, 02:09:24 PM »
Watched War of the Arrows last night, not my usual fare but was very, very good.

One question though, on the historical/technical representation of the archery technique.

I am used to arrows being rested on the left of the bow but in the movie they were rested on the right. Was this a movie anomaly or how it was done?

Cheers.  :)

Cheers James

I just watched "Myn Bala: Warriors of the Steppe", which was even better (18thc Kazakh struggle).  The horse archers in that all rested the arrow to the left of the bow.

Thank you!

That website is a fantastic resource.  Great articles with really useful images.  The page on stance is most informative.
