Actually, I plan on using the DZC buildings for Epic as well. After all, GW is always ranting about how incredibly huge and impossibly big and Gothic the architecture of their far future is.

I mean; if you can have a throne room large enough to have its own weather system, and libraries stretching on for miles, the Hawk Wargames buildings are practically hovels! lol
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Well, they are scaled more in line with the buildings you got in Titan Legions than the ones you got in SM2. ;)

@ Chico:

Are you going to be using the TL or SM2 rules? There's almost nothing between them, but I did find the titan shield rules better in TL (basically, you need at least a -1 sv modifier to take a shield down) as it made Titans much more worthwhile, and I liked the titan objectives too.

Also, did you have the alternative objectives from the WD196? I quite liked them, and they added more dimension to the games as they often needed specific conditions to be fulfilled.

We are running for the most part SMV2 for the 10 Player game and the 3/4 stand alone 2 player games at the Oldhammer Weekend. But for my home games I'll be using a slightly modded SMV2 (Not as changed as NetEpic though). for exsample Orks aren't limited to one of each Clan Card.

I can't remember the 196 objectives but I do have the WD somewhere so I'll have to have a good look :)

Cheers
Chico

I have to say that I thought NetEpic was pretty good (specifically, it helped to balance a lot of niggles that I had even when young), although I'd likely play it without the "new" rules like artillery spotters and such. I felt the cards and formations were better too, as some overly-good ones often had points costs and break points tweaked a bit to make them fairer.

The WD I mentioned was one of the early editions that had the card insert section introduced. Shame they phased that out.

Basically, the objectives were all placed as usual, face-down; upon "capturing" the objective, the player looked at it to see what it was and then acted accordingly. Some needed to be escorted off the board, some had to be destroyed in melee or shooting, some were a one-off bonus, etc. Coupled with the Titan objectives, I thought they were fun, and helped to prevent that one-turn-mass-objective-grab that was so easy to do and resulted in an early sudden-death ending.

God, I loved Epic.  8)
