Supplements in the future?
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:07:44 PM »
Okay we have Gothic Horror added to IHMN  :-I  :`  :`  :`  :`

How about any plans for a Barsoom or Venus supplement for IHMN?

Gracias,

Glenn

Moving off-world could be the logical progression of the rules.

The two choices, imho, are E.R Burroughs' Barsoom or H.G Wells' War of the Worlds genres. People's individual preferences are going to differ here; I would prefer E.R.B myself.
Black Hat's 18mm rules "Martian Empires" actually blends both genres together in their fluff and lists; it's the one thing that I found difficult to identify with when I bought their rules, I'd much prefer one or the other ... but not both together.

September's issue of Wargames Soldiers & Strategy Magazine has within it a mini-supplement covering the resistance to the Martian Occupation after the invasion, so that's Mr Wells sorted out.
We are in the process of writing another piece for a wargames magazine regarding The Lost World and similar stories.
The next full supplement has not been decided upon yet. We have our hands pretty full with Daisho at the moment.
Be assured that once we have decided what it is you shall be the first to know  :D

Interesting comment but true.  Perhaps. ;)  One thing that Valor & Flesh & Steel did fairly well was blend the two.  They don't need to be mutually exclusive if good background reasoning exists for them to co-exist.

I prefer (since my gaming is oriented there already) Venus (very much in common with a "Lost World" setting I think) over Barsoom over Wellsian Mars but it should be possible to include elements of all those in a set of supplements - just difficult.  But then I am not putting the sweat equity of writing the rules,, am I?   ::)   ;)   lol

Gracias,

Glenn

The way IHMN is going adventures on Mars is a way off yet - the invasion doesn't happen until next month, but if Craig is asking for a vote, I'd say 'Lost Worlds'

Then again, I'll probably break my wallet buying whatever it is.  lol
