ACW 15mm blog updates - Essex & Old Glory
« on: 31 May 2014, 07:38:34 PM »
I hadn't painted in about six months and haven't updated the blog in over eight. Until now.

I put up three new entries today revolving around the elements in this picture:

All three can be seen here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/search/label/ACW

That'll be it for ACW for a spell, but I appear to be back in the saddle in terms of productivity, so stay tuned.

Questions, comments and followers are welcome and encouraged ...
"One of My Men Became Restless" focuses on 15mm Horse & Musket periods and 25mm Horse & Musket, Fantasy, Horror and Victorian everything! Occasionally there'll be stuff of related interest but it's mostly a painters blog.  See it all here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/

Just had a look at the blog - got t one some of the best paint jobs on Essex 15mm figures I've ever seen.  If I'd not recognised the figure's I'd have taken them for 28mm.
Photos of my recent efforts are at www.littleleadmen.com and https://beaverlickfalls.blogspot.com

Thanks! I loved Essex when they came out - I still do for the cleanliness of the minis -always nice clean sculpts with good detail.

Old Glory stole my heart though even though the figures are impressionistic - straps to nowhere, unbalanced facial hair, unsymmetrical hats, pike length bayonets, etc, etc. They just can't be beat for variety and the mostly excellent animation.

Nice work  8) 8) 8) 8)

Essex do paint up well, as do AB but I have been quite impressed with the Bluemoon 15/18mm ACW of which I have quite a large number of bags waiting to be painted.

There are a few casting errors with BM that usually only show up after one has primed them but for paintability they are good, definitely 2 steps up from OG.

The only major problem is the Essex are NOTICEABLY smaller than BM but AB you can just about add in without the height difference being too obvious.

With BM qualifying for the OG Army Card 40% discount think of all teh extra bags one can get  ;D
