28mm Irish Guards honey troop
« on: 12 November 2014, 02:42:19 PM »
Just uploaded some pictures of the Honey troop I finished late last month:

All models are by Company B with the tank commander being from Warlord Games.

Enjoy,

Burkhard

Looking good, great face on the commander and the glass lenses have been done very well.

Thank you!

Painting the lenses was quite a change. Usually I use scale models which have the vision slots open and which cannot be painted for that reason.

They look ready to roll into Arnhem!

Great paint jobs. Those trees in the back ground are cool as well.

Nice catch on the trees!  Are those scratch built?  They're actually to scale!

Thank you all guys!

Regarding the trees... Those are K&M trees mounted on Snapdragon Studios tree stumps. The later were quite large resin pieces, where I drilled into the top, so,they would take the wire for the K&M trees. Unfortunately Snapdragon ceased trading for health reasons about half a decade ago and they have not sold their moulds to anyone, so I think it will be near impossible to get more these days.
Not a cheap solution. I have about 60 trees (leaf and firs) and I think they cost me about 500 GB£ in total. On the other hand they usually draw lots of attention at shows, so I think it was a good investment!
