Reaper Miniatures
« on: 24 June 2014, 02:06:41 PM »
Two thoughts came to mind this morning while on the reaper site:

1)  Why does reaper sit on miniatures that seem ready to sell for so long?

http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Previews

It, specifically, seems like I have been looking at the "new" painted mousling miniatures on the preview page above for months and yet they don't ever make it to the store.

(some of the few "Big" (20 mm or larger) miniatures on my wish list)

2) Rhetorical - why do those mouslings keep disrupting my plans to get to smaller (3/6/10/15 mm) figures only.  I know why "Soldados and Presidials" keep me in 25 mm + figures - no alternatives - but the Mouslings are an addiction I can't seem to shake (there are alternative mice  (no Rats please) but Reapers Mouslings are so uniquely attractive.)

Gracias,

Glenn

I paint mins for two related companies, Northstar and Great Escape Games.

Nick at Northstar likes me to post pics of upcoming releases I've done as soon as they're finished, for some early advertising. Sometimes it's weeks or months between me posting the pics and the miniatures being released.

This leads to people grumbling about the wait between the first glimpses and being able to buy them.

Mark and Stu at Great Escape like me to sit on anything I've done for them, preferring to publish any photos themselves first, just as they're being released.

This leads to people grumbling about the wait between hearing rumours of new releases and seeing the first pics!

I think you're damned if you do and damned if you don't sometimes.

I'm with you on this one, Mr. Peabody. I'm champing at the bit to get the Gorilla with No Name to add to my Judge Dredd Ape Gang. Brilliant miniature (although I may greenstuff some trousers on him, just because all the Judge Dredd simians are fully dressed).

That gorilla is the only non-mousling on my "big" (as in bigger than 15 mm) miniatures buy/wish list.   :-*

Crocodile Games are doing my head in. They keep posting pictures on their forum of some amazing Ancient Greek sculpts but it will be ages before you can buy them  :(

Personally, I keep waiting for them to release the IMEF Bulldog that they've teased about having ready to go for a while now on their boards...

I think that the sheer amount of work involved in the kickstarter has delayed a lot of things
