28 MM Jungle Cruiser
« on: 05 July 2014, 04:04:32 AM »
I picked this vehicle up at the swap meet last week for 30 cents.  I think it was originally at toy found in a kid’s meal at a fast-food restaurant.  When I bought it, it needed some repair and a new paint job, but it looked like it could be fun and for 30 cents I wasn’t taking much of a risk. The Foundry Darkest Africa figure is provided for scale.   I’m not sure the cruiser is all that practical, but practical or not, it looks pretty good with 28mm figures, and I’m glad I got it.  Hope you enjoy it too.

The kid's name....now....his full name.  :-*  :-*  :-*  :-*

I'm hoping he'll find another one in his meal.

Amalric, that International Truck you pictured could only have come in a Happy Meal… a very happy meal.  The Jungle Cruiser is indeed a crazy toy, and I'm glad I got it if only for the fun I received in the repairing and painting of it.  I had never seen it before which is part of the joy of the swap meet.  There are just so many neat toys out there that I'm completely unaware of until I dig through a box of broken toys at the swap meet.  Thanks to all for writing and glad you enjoyed the cruiser.  Richard

Try looking on ebay for happy meal toys.  You never know what someone is selling.  Likely you have to buy a lot, but there can be some other discoveries in the mix.

Nice.   It could do duty as a cargo cult jeep.

And they still couldn't fix the S.S. Minow?
