War and Space in 15mm: The UESR.
« on: 22 July 2014, 01:42:45 AM »
I thought I'd share some pics of some completed 15mm sci fi stuff. Here is the mechanised/Regular force for the UESR (United Eurasian Socialist Republics) a rabidly Socialist/Communist faction, and one of the 17 Earth Powers.

Their background is still a work in progress right now, as I always like to make my factions a little more complex, or have a reason for them being the 25th centuries version of Space Nazi's, or Space Communists etc.

The UESRs way of war is more sussed out: They are, at least visually, not as technologically advanced as other factions, often relying more on cheaper, and more robust tech. One of their most striking features is the lack of drones/unmanned vehicles used in their forces, and the greater emphasis on humans. However the UESR is very much a disciple of 'Operational Adaptability' and has a vast military force, populated with numerous branches, specialising in their own fields, but also expected to co-operate with one another, and work in support if their speciality is not required. Some are of course being much larger than others. The UESR also boasts the second largest Reserve force, with a dedicated Home Guard, Militia, Interior Troops and even Convict Battalions which can be marshalled in times of emergency.

The following pics are of my UESR 'Assault' Regulars (A mix of Antenociti, Khurasan vehicles, and Armiesarmy R.U.S.K troopers) this part of the force is not yet finished, as they are missing the Heavy Weapons teams.

The UESR Regulars of course make up the main bulk of the UESR armies. They are divided into two types, the better equipped 'Assault' Regulars, and the more numerous Regulars. Assault Reg's are the first major wave in conventional operations, if they make contact with a force that proves difficult to overcome, normal Regulars arrive and provide support. One of the main differences between the two (aside from the better quality and better armoured vehicles) is the Assault Regulars deploy more sophisticated weaponry: Plasma Rifles, 3mm Infantry Rotary Weapons and Hyper Velocity AT are used alongside conventional Assault rifles, LMGs, RPGs etc. Assault Regulars also use Protective Visors that provide enhanced vision, Infra-red, Night vision, aim assist and allow soldiers to collect and transfer data to one another quickly, with some limited protection against hacking or other system disruption techniques.

Pretty cool
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

One of them yes! They will be used for a military coalition within the E.U called the Central Powers. The E.U still exists in my background, but is of diminished purpose. Its major use is providing a platform for European states to develop and invest in space exploration and colonization and of course, keep them from killing each other.

The main factions for my first campaign is the UESR, The Commonwealth (The UESRs only major ally) and the Republic of China and its allies.

The Central Powers might get involved, but will likely have their own campaign, fighting Germanic Separatists and an Alien Super Power.

The Infantry are Armies Army R.U.S.K Guards; http://www.armiesarmy.com/shop/

The Wheeled IFVs are Antenocitis NRF Kabardin APC, a 15mm version of his awesome 28mm line http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/antenocitis/g-o-t-vehicles-15mm-1.html (I'm hoping he does more 15mm vehicles, but will have to wait and see)

And the tracked vehicles are Khurasans Nova Respublik Yozhik (Hedgehog) APC/ICV: http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi.html

As it stands Armies Army, Khurasan and Antenociti Neo-Soviet/Russian ranges are what I'm using for this faction.
