A nice concept, very well executed.

Speaking as someone who's mounted all their VSF figures on resin cobblestone bases, I can vouch for the act of getting a figure of the integral cast base being a pain in the proverbial.  In the end, I've used a combination of razor saw & knife (X-Acto #24 for those interested), followed by some heavy filing/wet 'n' dry.  Unless I can get a good line in with the razor saw, I tend to use vertical downwards (relative to the figure) knife cuts (with lots of pressure behind them) to remove the base around the feet, then horizontal cuts to take the base off under the feet, but being very careful to put no bending motion on the foot/leg, otherwise the figure ends up looking uncomfortably contorted.  Expect to get through blades at a rate of knots doing this.

It is usually better to inset the cast base into the surface, cutting feet off bases is possible but often results in broken ankles on the figures. A low speed hand drill with router bit will create a void with ease and a little filler then disguises the join.

I'm less confident in my ability to sculpt a cobblestone effect to match the scenic base than I am in my ability to not break the ankles of my little chaps.  (Although the first couple I did were chapesses & I did break the heels of their boots, requiring some emergency cobbler work, but I think I got away with it.)
