Castle Bromwich in Miniature. The Airfix Quickbuild Spitfire

Just had a ball with the kids putting together one of the new Airfix Quickbuild Spitfires. My six year old and almost five year old really loved making a model of Grandpa's Spitfire. The kits are precoloured and go together like Lego but with titally smooth exteriors. Somewhere between a model kit, Lego and a 3D jigsaw. Highly recommended, my son has been looking forward to this all week and my daughter told me she now wants the Eurofighter.

For anyone looking to use one as a game piece, they are quite detailed enough to use as a gaming model although you would probably want to do a repaint. They are all fit the box scale but the Spit is probably in the vicinity of 1/48.
