D-Day RAF Spitfire Mk2 and jeep
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:58:06 PM »
Heres one of my latest sets - a converted Dinky Spit (an old Mk2 - veteran of The Battle of Britain)with scratch built cockpit and a Battle of Britain Pilot being chewed out by his wing commander.

A bit different?

regards

Ps Hawker Hurricane coming next :)

Its 1/60 so pretty much compatable with 28mm. The pilot I chopped a bit of leg out to make him 28mm - he is one of those cheapy Westair pewter figures and was a bit long in the leg anyway. Cockpit took ages!

Heres another - I was farting about with an old backdrop.

thanks

Sweet looking plane.
I think the Spitfire is one of the most beautiful planes ever.
Of course that's just my opinion.

Lovely, and a great subject as well. Who, in their right mind, could resist a Spitfire! :D

Dear All

Thanks for the kind comments.

I do enjoy aircraft modelling and they are so often forgotten in wargames. In reality air cover and supremacy were a prerequisites for any ground operation. Without it D-day would not have happened and a German invasion of Britain would!

I have done a few aircraft in this scale now and have a hurricane on the bench at present. Heres a shot of of desert Me109, again Dinky diecast refurb in 1/56 scale.
