battletech alpha strike solo playability ?
« on: 22 October 2014, 12:14:47 AM »
Hi,

I'm looking for a fast and easy mecha game, wich would be solo friendly. I'm wondering if Alpha Strike could match my needs.

I already own MechAttack.

Thanks !

I find you can take a lot of games and simply add random card activation.  You'll always lose the over-arching "strategy" of a competitive venture but I find it's easy to randomly activate units and then simply act in their best interest.

So, if anything you could do that.

I don't know anything about solo play, but if Mech Attack works for solo play for you, then Alpha Strike should also.  We've used both systems to good effect. The difference being that Mech Attack works well for 5-10 units per side but slows considerably after that. For Alpha Strike, on the other hand, 10 units is probably the minimum per side that one would field as the streamlined mechanics require more units for an engaging game.
