IHMN robots?
« on: 16 October 2014, 10:19:14 PM »
I picked up my copy of Sleeping Dragon Rising Sun.  It got me thinking about doing a little something for the game, so I'm converting a Warjack into a steam thing. I'm working on how to arm it but The problem is that I can't find my copy of IHMN and I haven't purchased Heroes and Villans yet.  I don't need stats, but can someone tell me what kind of weapon loadouts the various robots and automatons have in those two books? I realize I could just stat something myself, but I'm wanting to not branch too far out yet.

Which Warjack are you using?
I have a Defender that is carrying a light Cannon and a Heavy Hammer (my own creation) . I have a modified Sentinel with a Machine gun and steam claw. Flame throwers, arc Cannons and heavy weapons are the usual but with the weapon creation rules and the OK of you fellow players the sky is the limit.

I've not totally sure, but it's a Khador heavy Warjack with power axe and cannon.  I've cut the power axe down to a hammer and I'll probably keep the cannon, but I could switch it out for something else.

I would make the hammer a steam fist and the Cannon could be a light field gun though I would make a rule you can't move and shoot the field gun without ending up on your back.

That seems reasonable for the hammer/fist.   I could just put a fist on, but the hammer looks quite good, so I'll keep that.

Is there much use for a cannon?  I could easily block off the magazine and put a heavy MG barrel in there instead.  Or, if it's worthwhile, it would be pretty easy to put a magnet in there and be able to switch between cannon and MG.

Then all I've got to do is figure out:
-Should I  cut away most of the spikes?
-What should I put in place of the head?

For those who are curious, this is the model.

Mine has a different axe (now trimmed to a hammer) that is usually paired with a fist, but the fist is in use on a different model. I'm making this from leftover parts after I gathered the necessary stuff to make a unit of Lesser Abbysal Golems for Kings of War. They are all going to be made from Khador warjacks and will all have close combat weapons.  6 Warjacks on a movememt gray will be a pretty cool unit, but that the subject for another post.

I posted some thoughts on the general topic early this year.

This is what Bullshot did with some Warmachine figs.

For VSF Japanese powered suits I use Warmachine Khador Man-o-War figures:

The figures are simple converted by adding samurai-style horns to the helmets and replacing the polearm and shiels with 2-handes samurai swords (from TAG).
