Robots
« on: 26 June 2008, 05:01:07 PM »
I / we need some robots for a Wierd Cold War participation game my local club is putting together for Warfare in the autumn. They would be used as the defenders of an abandoned and secret WW2 era German bunker. We don't want anythig too Nazi though, as it will be a game open to children and adults.

Any ideas for suitable figures or ones that could be converted?

Thanks

Jim

Darkson Designs do some good ones in the AMERICAN range

Hydra Miniatures would work well too.

Superfigs has this guy that would make a nice basis:

Alpha Forge has some 'wardroids' that may work well:

All have that 'retro' feel.
Hope any of that helps!

BTD do some in their Dr Who range.  Then their is the Pulp one from Rattrap and a Power Armoured Trooper from EM4.  I recall there are more robots there too.

Well they're not lead but the new StarWars mini's "Legacy of the Force" have a guard droid that might be useful. http://www.rebelscum.com/SWminiLOTF45guarddroid.asp
More droids can be found scattered throughout the other series, not just combat droids either, here are a few:

There are quite a few webstores that sell single SW miniatures, some have prices based on availability and size while others price on popularity (even big mini's can be cheap if nobody wants them) so it really depends on which ones you want to buy.

Hope this helps a bit....
Tank? Vot kind of dumbkopf name is that for a Schutzengrabenvernichtungspanzer?

Oh dear, there goes my holiday money... o_o

Nice find Yggdrasil, that is a serious contender for an AdMech Preatorian. Several of the other mini's on that site are spot-on for AdMech use as well.

MegaMiniatures do 20 different robots, some of which might be suitable. Their eBay store (http://stores.ebay.com/MegaMiniatures/NEWproducts.html) allows you to order them individually.
I don't know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.
