Kazakh nationalist army during the RCW ?

Hello,

   was there any nationalist Kazakh army during the RCW ?  or was  Kazakhstan controlled by white forces or quickly overrun by the Bolsheviks ?

Not really relevant but since getting involved with some guys from Kazakhstan who were going to produce a range of 28mm Kazakh figures I have had a hankering to know more about the place and perhaps even raise some troops. Unfortunately the project failed but I ended up with some brandy and an amazing engraved clock as a thank you for my help.
