Judge Dredd miniatures - size
« on: October 30, 2014, 10:43:01 PM »
I picked up some Mongoose Miniatures Judge Dredd figures on EBAY and they arrived (very quickly) only for me to discover that they are, in the words of Shakespeare himself 'fookin mahoosive'. I'd read somewhere that they fit fine with Foundry and figured they'd be ok with my Aliens setting figures which comprise of Heresy, Denizen (which I know are teeny), EM-4 and Hasslefree. This was the basis of getting the JD figures,  it meant I could re-use other figures I already had,and simply pick up a few judges and maybe some apes and rehash existing figures into the Mega City One world.

So, next enquiry is: does anyone who has the Foundry figures know how they size up with the ranges mentioned above? I understand the old Citadel ones are the smallest but they're also the most expensive.

So much for plan C (plans A and B were also shot down).

Thanks

Foundry ones are more 32mm Scale, they'll fit well with Mongoose Era not so much with Citadel

Citadel vs Mongoose Era

Citadel/Mongoose/Foundry

Thanks Dr F. Those old Citadel ones are tiny and probably much better suited to the figures I have (EM-4, Denizen,  Heresy,  Hasslefree,  etc). They are at least £6 each though so I could probably buy a box of apes and a box of something else of the Mongoose figures for the same price as 8 Citadel figures.

What other scifi ranges are at the 30mm range? All the ones I have are more 28mm or 25mm. As this is just a side project of a side project I'm only after a few figures (which makes me think I should just get some more Mongoose).

I just need to track down my box of old Judge Dredd comics in the attic (I haven't forgotten about the images Andy!).

Edit: how rude of me to miss this comment out: those are lovely paintjobs Dr F.

If you go for the citadel ones you can mix e4m  in there a treat fot City Def, perps l, wally squad etc.

If u want any jd minis give me a pm shout I've  got a few doubles or triples in some cases: muties and perps.

Cheers

I think I rather like the Mongoose JD stuff now that I look back through my old comics
I will probably keep it and not try and pick up old Citadel stuff at Futsie prices. So, the next question is, what other scifi figure ranges go with Mongoose?  Not Heresy,  Hasslefree,  Denizen or Em4. I was thinking Copplestone might?

The only Mongoose Dredd figures I've had in hand were the plastic Mega City Gangers. If they are representative of the line, I'd say the Copplestone Future stuff is too small.  The Copplestone troopers and ganger are slightly bigger than their em4 cousins, but that's mainly bulk rather than height.  The Copplestone Neo-Soviets are taller, so they'd be more in the ballpark, but probably still not as big as the Mongoose stuff.

Reaper, GW, Privateer Press and Hasslefree scale fine with Mongoose Dredd stuff. I don't mind punks and juves being smaller than Judges, it looks about right when compared to the comics.

Thanks guys. My Hasslefree seem too small next to Mongoose but there are varying sizes in HF's stuff.

I hadn't thought about Privateer Press. I'll check them out.
