That's excellent. I'll only need a few for my small 1812 French force. My 1812 figures are largely Russians and Italians. I've checked my books and Digby Smith's 'Armies of 1812' reckons the 1st company of Mamelukes had only 75 men and officers. At our brigade level rules at a 1:40 nominal ratio I'd only need two! I might have to fudge it for a few more!

Plate showing Mamelukes of the Imperial Guard from the 'Augsburger Bilder' series of plates (from 1806-1812). From 'Charakteristische Darstellung der vorzuglichsten europaischen Militairs' by J.M. Voltz referenced in Smith D. 'Armies of 1812' 1977 (2nd ed. 2002)

Steve
thanks for the feedback..............nice plate
good old Digby Smith his books form the backbone
of my collection. The Mameluke  information is very scattered
but I have collected a fair amount now from French sources
and Museums/private collections.
For the Waterloo campaign the Brass crescents and headdresses
/scimitars and equipment for a strong company were withdrawn
from the Mameluke Quartermaster stores and the troopers and officers
totalling about 90 were gathered together under Captain Kirman
whos likeness i tried to copy in pewter/lead..from the Opsrey illustration
by the talented Patrice Courcelle.. regards Ged www.gringo40s.com

No worries Ged. The difficulty will be choosing which four to get. Your Napoleonic range is quite inspired. I can't wait till you release Eugene!  :D
