No minis, but the (Unofficial) Vikings Handbook and History Channels Vikings season 1 and 2 on blu-ray, to help me prep for the big 2015 project.  :)

No figures though I will probably buy a few myself shortly with my gift-cards.  :)
Received four Battleground War of the Roses books I pointed my wife at and a wine preserver set.  I'm not sure about this concept of multiple servings from a single bottle though.  ::)

I got the Fightin 15s/Eureka guillotine set and bystanders - this will keep me busy for about a decade! I also got the private contractors from Fighting 15s /Eureka and the Danger 5 set from Crooked Dice. Furthermore, among many other things a pair of cherry red Doc Marten's of which I am immensely proud!  :D

Digital Calipers
Dice rolling cup
Convergence of Cyriss dice set
A Deadlands Wild Dice
A metal earth steam loco model.
And finally, my wife has offered to cover my order for Martian skiff's from Bibbles  :-*
So many projects..... so little time.......

Only two hobby related gifts at the Rawnsley Redoubt, both from Dave.

One direct - A rather splendid Matchbox truck, replete with appropriate Russian newspaper for my Back of Beyond Soviets, it is currently being weathered to reflect its hard life in the wilds of Rhanzlistan, I will post a pic of it on the BoB board when it is complete.

One indirect - A copy of An Officers Manual of the Western Front 1914-18, I think Dave is trying to tell me something here.

No minis/models, but one family member apparently took a trawl through my amazon wishlist (not gift wishlist, just my "instead of bookmarking stuff" wishlist) and got me almost all the airbrush-related bits and bobs. New air hoses, new regulator, a check valve, a muffler/filter for my compressor, a can of paint gun cleaner, plastic test tubes for spare needle storage, a plastic hard-shell case for the brush itself, and a wee tube of pneumatic lube.
History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

Great hauls, fellas!  I went on an ebay-spree in November and picked up a healthy selection of OOP rackham/confrontation miniatures - almost completed my collection of the orcs!  Otherwise I got some other fun non-hobby stuff.  I might use some of my Christmas cash for some of the tabletop world buildings.

One awesome thing my son got, which I find quite applicable, was this great book uniforms of soldiers throughout the ages.  It is very well laid out, informative, and entertaining.  It's pretty much at the right level for me as well, so we can learn together.  It's written by Kate Davies and published by Usborne.  I highly recommend it for all of you wargaming historians out there! I was looking at their catalogue, and they have some other interesting titles I may have to peruse as well.  ;)

Got some MDF scenery from Sally Forth. Got to say, it looks a lot better in person than it does in their photographs.

I went shopping after Christmas and managed to find the Dungeons and Dragons Collector's Series Drow War Party marked down from £40 to £10, and the Umber Hulk and Qesnef, Orgre Mage each marked down from £25 to £10 :D

Also got some money, so no doubt that will be heading towards figures :)

Ok, I snapped this afternoon and bought a platoon of the AB Miniatures 20mm WWII Brits for Chain of Command and Battlegroup...  ;D
These arrived just yesterday! Truly some of the nicest minis I have ever seen, regardless of scale.  :-* :-*

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing
