They are excellent.

I never could get decent results with my light box. I now have a new camera so will have to try again.

Well that works, may have to invest one too.

Great painting as well, I like your Perry Carlist Clergy conversions.

A suitably eclectic bunch, well painted and based!

My vote goes on the Brigader in the check shirt... not that the others aren't good, but that one stood out for me.  :)

He is lovely isn't he. Still a bit to early to be a young Kurt Cobain though :)

Thanks for the kind comments gents, its nice to be fired up again by my favourite period, all down to Scrivs and his Chain of Command games postings  :D

Will try to put some more pics on this thread, have a few other conversions that may be of interest.
Also have a video on how I did the bases, just waiting for FCPX to finish rendering and converting the download, will link to that on here as well.

thanks again  :)

lol The shirt's too cheerful in any case. Facially though he reminds me of Jarvis Cocker.  :?

There can never be too much SCW on this board.  :)

Jarvis Cocker  lol

Checked shirts, the bane of my life, they look nice when done, but are a regular pain to paint, always on the lookout for a simple method to paint them, so if anyone has one, please please share it with us.

added the base making video to my blog, so have a dekko see what you think.

more pics later, I hope :-)

Great work and great basing video. Who sells the clergy figures?

Have you thought of using super glue for the sand? I started using the a few months back and it's great as it drys really quick and also sticks that sand really good.

Great video. When you were squeezing that stubborn Flat Earth out and the video cut I thought the next shot would be of you doing a clean up operation. I have found that if the Vallejo does not come out easily then it pays to clear the nozzle with a pin, else, if you squeeze too hard and the top pops off it makes a right mess (the voice of experience)

I see that you are using expensive 'branded' super-glue. This stuff from Screwfix is the dogs-doo-dahs: http://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-superglue-20g/26780 You get 20g for about £1.70

They even do a big 50g one for £3.90 : http://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-superglue-50g/79181 great if you are sticking loads of sand on bases.

If you are assembling white metal or resin models this stuff is great too: http://www.screwfix.com/p/mitrebond-aerosol-kit-pack-of-2-pcs/28848 I also use this to stick my figures onto the bases. Very viscous, so great for gap-filling.
