No, I'm slightly short sighted, so close-up work I'm good with without visual aids. If I had to do a piece that needed ultra close-up photographs taking I wouldn't rule it out though. For me, although I do try to stretch myself a little, I do think there's definitely a case of me taking a workmanlike approach to most jobs, and getting them done within a decent timescale. I very much doubt I have the sort of concentration and sheer expertise to produce anything close to Ms Haley's pieces.

Interesting. I have very much the same thing going on. I have atrocious vision, but pop off my glasses and I can see close in (by which I mean within 2" to 3" of my eyeball - quite useless for anything BUT painting minis!) quite nicely, though depth perception gets a bit tricky.

Have it. Bought it at Triplles years ago and very rarely play it as it has potential to be entertaining . Such a shame Mongoose dropped it and the minis are only available on ebay for the price of a kings ransom. All I wanted was the Viking dropship that was only produced as a prototype model. If it had been released it would have been the work horse for the majority of sci fi gaming regardless of the genre.
