Just on the BPRD vein, does anyone here really like Guy Davis' illustrations?
I wasn't a fan to begin with, but his style grew on me. I think it is just so radically different to Mignola's that it takes some getting used to.
I picked up the Lost Squad collection from Amazon at the weekend, and found it really quite enjoyable. There was a lot of lovely set ups for more stories (What's with the Chicago Boys? Exactly how old is the Major? And how does he know the main bad guy? etc).
The only thing I didn't like was the inclusion of the short story at the end (I assume this one was published first) as after setting up the team as near invincible, they dispell that illusion in a couple of pages, and seem to give a finite end to any adventures before they really even get going. Kind of ruined it for me, unfortunately.
