Futuristic Skateboarders!
« on: 22 July 2015, 08:17:48 PM »
Spurred on by the fun game of Firewall 2136AD last week I thought I'd dig into the lead mountain and see what else I had in there that could be used. These guys jumped out at me:

They are Copplestone Castings miniatures and we're great fun to paint - as well as a good excuse to break out the bright paints!

Now to dream up a scenario to use them in! I'm thinking a drive-by (or skate-by) assassination attempt or heist? Any ideas?

Oh, definitely!

I will say, I'm not familiar with Firewall, and for a second, I imagined a vehicular 'death race' game. Much more interesting when the poor pedestrians can dodge, weave, and shoot back!  ;)

I think they are hoverboards. A normal skateboard would dig in on that terrain.

That being said years ago the kids built themselves an off road skateboard so they could be those.

You could be right , but the one on the right in the blue shirt clearly has wheels on his skateboard, so he's old school.

Well, as the movie takes place in 2015, those are not futuristic any more.

The Copplestone offerings have wheels:

However, they should easily convert to hoverboards using suitable flight stands. I have plans ...  ;)

Thanks for the kind comments guys, always good to hear.

I think they are hoverboards. A normal skateboard would dig in on that terrain.

I was tempted to do them as hoverboards and go for a bit of a judge dredd sky surfer gang but decided to keep them on wheels in the end and contemporary to my other "near future" figs.

The basing is to match all my other urban-based figures. It does seem a little rough for them, but I'm sure they'll cope.

Same since they were posted the same day the hype on the Back to the Future was released.
