Eat Hitler!
« on: 06 April 2015, 11:00:34 AM »
Just had a great game with our three grandsons - EAT HITLER.  Pure escapism and the kids loved it.  Only Callum (age 7) had a vague understanding of the plot.  Aiden (almost 5) and Nathan (4) were happy to have dinos eat baddies.  A rummage in the lead pile had found a model Hitler and a pack of Nazi females.  The toy box yielded lots of dinosaurs and 4 were not painted or were garish and so I repainted them.  Saturday evening, some of Sunday afternoon and all of Sunday evening produced a game setting and enough time for a bit of painting in brown!

Children's version of the scenario:  The Baddies (Nazis) are getting beaten by the Goodies (Allies) and they have escaped in a flying saucer.  The Flying saucer was hit by a solar flare and went back in time to Jurassic times (yes I know the dinos are from the Cretaceous but blame Hollywood).  The Goody Dinosaurs see the Baddies as a snack and try to eat them.

These models were painted just for this game and the colour scheme selected for this speed build!

I believe this scenario is based on the historc events in the jungles of Neuschwabenland, circa 1949?

What the mummies did not know (until later) was that there were chocolate mini eggs in little nests of 3 hidden in the undergrowth to share when they were found.  And a small chocolate bunny for the dino that ate a baddy!  And a few more left over to share so that everyone got the same!

Great idea. I'm going to run this at open days. But where can I get a Hitler?

We played this a few years ago at Enfilade. The funniest thing that happened was Hitler trying to escape in the time machine/truck and ran over fat Hermann! The players had just as much fun eating each other to try and be the last dino to eat Hitler as well. Fun times and lots of grown men acting like little boys. And people wonder why we do it?
