It's your normal Starz ahistorical nonsense... But it's very enjoyable. And Lagertha is a great character.

much less nonsense than the usual TV stuff. It looks at least right and the shieldwall sequences were decent. Compared to other "historical" stuff Viking is an improvement (ok still too much gore and sill sex). That is my humble opinion... at least no telephone pole size pilum as in the awful TV movie on Augustus made by the Italian State Channel...

XD Didn't see "Augustus", but I've seen some horrendous made-for-cable "historical dramas". My Mom likes some truly awful made-for-TV 'Antony and Cleopatra'. Yuck! XD

I'll try 'Vikings' soon.

While my brother loves that show, I've never seen it. The cast picture there looks about as "viking" as the cast of Xenia Warrior Princess. (which is to say: not very.)
