Wow thanks! Biggest compliment ever!

I cant take all the Credits for Gollum as i saw a sketch somewhere with a Gollum with a servoskull head... as i loved it i had to make ons for myself.

Yeah, I'm quite sure I've seen a similar miniature in a blog, too... I'll post it if I find the pic again.
Anyway, yours is different and beautiful and I like it very much. So, I think you deserve credit for your Gollum  ;)
Keep going, I'd like to see it painted!

Do take care to only whistle one of the 13 approved hymns to praise the emperor, any other musical expression shall be considered heresy and punished accordingly.

I do something similar, on high detail models I prime grey and give the entire model a quick wash to bring out the details a bit better, and like you said it provides instant shading.
