Echo Two-Seven Inbound
« on: 30 June 2015, 02:33:43 PM »
28mm model depicting 'Echo-27', a Kawasaki-Westland KW-8H Owl of No 705 Squadron, 18 Air Assault Brigade, Army Air Corps in the unique 'Hippo' tactical scheme used in NATO anti-piracy operations in the Mungoda River Delta in Belize c.August 2041.

The kit is based on the Laser Cut Card 'Gunship', found here:
http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/shop/vehicles/gunship

Scratch built additions:

  • Rheinmetall M-30K Recoilless Cannon chin turret
  • Samsung Oculus mast mounted sensor sight
  • Launch tubes for BAe Hector multi-munition guided weapon pods
  • Engines are modified to better reflect the Rolls-Royce Arun 500Reach ducted fan units installed on this model
  • Canopy shape is remodelled for a more sleek look.
  • Tilt fans and chin turret are magnetised with 3mm rare earth disc magnets to allow for vectoring thrust and slewing gun angle.

Paint is mostly Colorbond touch-up spray cans from Bunnings (DIY), and all decals are home made.

Not built for any specific rules system...yet

I thought I might add to this that we like what you did so much with the cockpit that we are looking at changing the existing kit to be more like yours.

Again... a stunning effort
