Finally,

Here's the third new sculpt I have to share with you, again by the talented Curtis Fell. Check out the gams on this one, fellas...

Curtis took particular pains to give her a nice set of legs, and I think it shows. Check out the garter belt! This dame will be available in the Xian Cabal range, one of Fu'Xian's enforcers. She's about 29mm tall to the top of her chopsticks.

Hope you enjoy these, folks. Comments welcome.

Tiny Wo and the Dame look really, really nice. :-*
But...and it could just be the photo, of course... but something looks a little strange about the Chief to me. In the first pic, his head looks off centre, the detail looks a bit soft on the jacket, and he looks as if he's leaning a bit TOO far back.
Anyway, 5 out of 6 so far I'm definitely up for.  ;D
Think I'll wait and see about the Chief though  :?

No, you don't sound harsh at all, El Prez, and I did ask for comments. I think it's really a matter of photography, but not everybody's tastes are the same, certainly. Glad you like the others!

A brief news update for those interested.

I have recieved the master model from Tobsen77 for Black Army Productions' first vehicle, the M36 "Toy Tank", also known as the "Euskadi."  It's an excellent piece by Tobi. I compared the master to the FT-17 produced by Brigade Games yesterday, and I am pleased with the results - the Euskadi should be roughly the same size as the FT-17, if not slightly wider, which it is. I suppose it would have to be, since it was officially supposed to be crewed by up to FOUR men...

(Imagine cramming four men into an FT-17... maybe if they were little people.)

I'm currently looking into the possibility of getting this vehicle cast in resin, rather than metal, as I suspect this would make it more economical (and I like resin vehicles, anyway.)  Assuming that comes through, it may be available earlier than the figures themselves, though that of course is dependent upon the caster, his time commitments, etc.

I don't have a price point yet - I still don't know how much it will cost to cast - but I don't expect it to be overly expensive.  Will let you know as soon as I do.

Lastly, yes, the website is in need of an update, will do that this week before heading off to Kublacon.

Thanks again for your support and interest.

Mal - Ain't she a nice lookin' dame? Hate having to put gals like that in the slammer, but you know how it goes... Dames can be real trouble, specially the good lookin ones.

Glad you like her:)

Malebolgia -

I was sort of quiet about it. I like to post news, but don't want to be too annoying. I'm grateful you like them!

Brief Update :I expect to have the miniatures component in production by August of this year. I will ship to most locations (China being a notable exception). "Brave Men, Badly Led" will hopefully be available by July. "Warrior Poets" could be as early as August, but will at least be ready by the Fall.

I have recently slightly tweaked the website. Full code descriptions of what I expect to have in the initial range are now up (well, with as much info as I have on them at present) with photos linked where possible. I have also added a page for our "Engines of War", range, the first of which will be the lovely M36 Trubia-Naval that you've already seen posted here, and elsewhere.

Hello, everyone.

Well, it's been a while. I received these latest pieces about three weeks ago, but I have been at sea for the last two weeks so I didn't have the opportunity to do much with them. During our trip, we also had a family crisis that almost became a tragedy, so for the first few days after I returned, that was (obviously) my focus. The website is, I'm afraid, a bit out of date because of this. I hope to correct that in the next week. Fortunately everybody's doing fine, so I can move on with the fun stuff.

These latest five figs are the next batch from Curtis Fell, and I hope you'll agree that they are excellent pieces. I am awaiting one more batch from Curtis, and then we'll be set with all the figs/vehicles for the first wave, after which production should follow shortly.

As usual, because "grey stuff/Procreate" is hard to photo, these photographs don't do the justice to Curtis' work, but I assure you they're pretty nifty in person. All are around 28mm in height, with the exception of Fu'Xian's "bodyguard" (see blow) who is obviously a might bit shorter (I haven't measured him yet, but he won't be much taller than "Tiny Wo" if at all).

The first three sculpts are members of the Shanghai Municipal Police (SMP.) I think Curtis has done an excellent job getting the cut and detail of their uniforms right!

First, a member of the SMP with standard issue pistol, in ready position.

Another heroic member of the SMP, this time with a longarm, in firing position.

Probably my favorite from this batch, this fellow is blowing his policeman's whistle and sounding the alarm. Or perhaps he's having a bad day directing traffic, or... I just think the pose is classic.

Next, members of Fu'Xian's entourage.

One of the torch song singers at Club Lao, prepared to deal forcefully with a disruptive fan.

Check out the detail in back.

Lao's bodyguard and pet. Known for climbing up trees, hurling unspeakable things at folks, etc. I suspect that he may be a forbear of a certain 21st century inhabitant of a certain small town in Rhode Island. Curtis' original idea, and I loved the sketch so I told him to go for it!

Finally, the insidious "Chinaman" himself. The stuff of legend. They he was responsible for most of the major events in Chinese history over the last several decades, if not centuries... So many rumors get started that way. Some great detail on the robes here that didn't pick up well in my photo, but I hope you get the general idea.

Again, no word yet on pricing as I have to have all figures in hand before I can ask the casting company for a quote. I expect it'll be sooner than later, though.

As always, comments welcome!

-Doc

Good stuff so far - would be nice to get some well-lit pictures, though!

Bit concerned about the lack of detail in the weapons - that police rifle especially, it looks like a kid's wooden toy rifle in the picture, blocky and simplistic. The pistols look basic as well. Is there detail there that didn't make it into the photo?

Very nice Doc!  What are your rules going to be called?  Also any update when the figures and vehicle will be available to purchase?

Agreed that the photos could be better. My apologies for the darkness of the photos this round.

At the moment, DO, my plan is to recommend these for use with .45 Adventures and "Triumph and Tragedy", two excellent rulesets. I highly recommend them both. And the writers are pretty nice guys, too;)

I'm still thinking August for availability, but that depends entirely upon the caster.

Just a note to mention that the website has had an update, including the addition of new codes and a new "News" page to keep those interested updated in regards to future developments.

Already in the process of planning Wave 2.

Great looking "ghost" miniature.  I'll have to pick that one up for sure.
